Founded by Wes out of a lifelong passion for dogs and responsible breeding, Yellow Spring Kennels began with beagles, where he spent years rabbit hunting and raising dependable hunting companions that also made exceptional family pets. Although college paused his breeding journey, his dedication to producing high-quality, well-bred dogs never faded. Over time, his vision expanded beyond beagles as he sought a more versatile sporting breed that could excel in multiple roles — from waterfowl retrieving and upland hunting to being a loyal family companion and active outdoor partner. After extensive research and firsthand experience, Yellow Spring Kennels chose to focus on Labrador Retrievers as the ideal fit for that mission.
